About The MFSA
The Muslim Football Supporters Association (MFSA) aims to support and represent Muslim football supporters’ groups through a national platform that strengthens collective advocacy, increases visibility and celebrates the positive contribution of Muslim fans to the game.
The MFSA also aims to work alongside wider representative bodies, including the FA and The Football Supporters’ Association (FSA), to ensure Muslim supporters are meaningfully represented within supporter structures and that the diversity of football fanbases across the United Kingdom is accurately reflected.
The MFSA was founded by Christopher John-George and Ben Bird following a charity match between the Chelsea and Manchester United Muslim Supporters Groups, which highlighted the need for greater national coordination and unity among Muslim football supporters. The MFSA was established to enable Muslim fans across the UK to easily identify and connect with their club’s Muslim supporters group, and to support the creation of new groups where none currently exist.
For many within the Muslim community, concerns about matchday environments and the potential for discrimination have acted as barriers to participation. The MFSA exists to address these challenges and to provide a unified and credible voice for Muslim supporters within the game.
Grass-Roots Board
The MFSA will be governed by a Board of Executives made up of a balanced and representative mix of experienced professionals and current chairs of Muslim football supporters’ groups from across the UK.
This structure ensures that strategic leadership is informed both by professional expertise and by the lived, day-to-day realities of Muslim supporters within clubs and supporter communities. By bringing together voices from different regions, clubs and levels of the game, the MFSA will work to ensure it genuinely represents Muslim football supporters across the UK and across all leagues.
The MFSA is currently open to accepting expressions of interest from individuals who would like to join the Board of Executives, and prospective members are invited to get in touch via our contact form or by email.
